Dyced lets you split trip expenses, scan receipts, plan an itinerary, and share a trip album with the people you travel with. If something isn't working — or you just want to ask a question — email us. A real person reads every message.

A screenshot or screen recording helps a lot. Please don't send passwords or full card numbers — we never need them.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sign in?

Dyced uses Sign in with Apple only — there is no separate password to create or remember. Signing in is what lets your trips sync across your devices and lets you share trips with other people.

If sign-in fails, check that you're signed into iCloud on the device (iOS Settings → [your name]) and that you have a network connection, then try again.

How do I invite someone to a trip?

Open the trip, go to the Members tab, and tap Invite to share a link. Anyone who opens the link on an iPhone with Dyced installed joins that trip; if they don't have the app yet, the link takes them to the App Store first and joins the trip after they install and sign in. The same tab has Add Friends for people you've travelled with before and Add Guest for someone who isn't on Dyced at all.

Invite links are open by design — treat one like a key to the trip and share it only with people you want in it.

How do I leave a trip, or remove someone from one?

To leave a trip someone else created, open the trip, tap the button at the top right, and choose Leave Trip. If you created the trip, you delete it instead — ⋯ → Trip Settings → Delete Trip. To remove someone else, open the trip's Members tab and remove them from their row.

Balances that involved that person stay recorded in the trip's history so past settlements still add up. If the trip has a shared album, see the album question below — album access is separate from trip membership.

Who stores the shared trip album, and what happens if they leave?

A trip's shared photo album lives in Apple iCloud, in the personal iCloud account of the member who hosts it — not on our servers. It counts against that member's iCloud storage.

You can see and change the host in Trip Memories → Settings → Album, and the host can move the album to another member or delete it for everyone. Because the album is shared through Apple's own sharing mechanism, someone removed from a trip may remain in the album until the host removes them — we don't revoke Apple sharing automatically, since that can't be undone without a fresh invitation.

Photos aren't uploading, or the album won't load

Shared albums need iCloud, so first confirm the device is signed into iCloud with iCloud Drive on, and that the album host still has free iCloud storage. Large videos are held until the device is on Wi‑Fi.

If one device is stuck while others are fine, open Trip Memories → Settings and use Reset on the album — it clears only that device's cached copy and re-joins the shared album. Everyone's photos are untouched.

What does Dyced Pro include, and how do I manage or cancel it?

Dyced Pro unlocks the AI features (receipt line-item extraction, natural-language and voice expense entry, trip insights and recaps, and asking questions about your trip) plus extras like trip covers, memories on the map, and saving your Trip Wrapped video. Current pricing for your region is shown on the upgrade screen in the app.

To manage or cancel, open Dyced → Settings → Dyced Pro → Pro, which opens Apple's subscription sheet. You can also go to iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.

I paid for Pro but the app says I'm not subscribed

Make sure the device is signed into the same Apple Account that made the purchase, then open the upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchase. This also recovers Pro on a new device or after a reinstall.

If it still doesn't take, signing out and back in re-issues the entitlement. Anything left after that, email us with the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple rather than by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple Account that made the purchase. If you'd like us to weigh in, email us and we'll help however we can.

A currency conversion looks wrong

Dyced converts foreign-currency expenses using published reference rates fetched by your device, not a bank or card rate, so a converted amount can differ slightly from what your card issuer charges. You can see when rates were last refreshed in Settings → About → Exchange Rates.

A receipt scan or AI result came out wrong

AI results are always shown to you as a draft first — nothing is saved to a trip until you review and confirm it, so you can correct any field before saving. Editing an already-saved expense gives you the same fields, including line items.

If a particular receipt reads badly every time, send it to us (with anything sensitive blacked out) and we'll use it to improve the parser.

I'm not getting notifications

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Dyced and confirm Allow Notifications is on, then check the notification toggles inside Dyced under Settings → Notifications. Focus modes and Low Power Mode can also delay delivery.

How do I export my data or delete my account?

Delete: open Dyced → Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account and confirm with Apple. This is permanent and removes your account and associated data on the timeline in our Privacy Policy. Note that content you added to an album hosted in someone else's iCloud isn't removed by deleting your Dyced account.

Export: email us and we'll put your data together for you.

What happens to the location stored in my photos?

Photos and videos you add to a shared album are shared with the other members of that trip exactly as your camera recorded them, including the capture location — the same as AirDropping a photo to someone. Dyced also stores that location alongside the photo so it can place your memories on the trip's itinerary map and in the trip recap. It is never shown in the album grid itself.

Only members of that trip can see the album. If a photo's location is something you'd rather not share with them, the reliable option is not to add that photo to the shared album.

What does Dyced do with my email if I connect a mailbox?

Connecting a mailbox is entirely optional. Your device connects to your mail provider directly over IMAP using an app-specific password stored in your device Keychain, reads only what it needs to find expense and booking confirmations, and turns them into drafts for you to review. We never receive your mail credential and don't use your email for anything else. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
